We expect to recieve approval for adding an addition to the Mahon home to give Kelly an expanded bedroom, and special needs bath, all equipped to address her needs. Special thanks to Jo DeAndrea and his architectual firm who have designed the addition.
We plan to dig the foundation, and frame the room with volunteers. However, we will solicit bids from masons to do the footing and foundation work. Contractors interested in this work should contact tjmcgu@yahoo.com. We expect all mason contractors to be license and insured. The core team will make arrangements for utility mapping, digging, dig settling, etc. Also, all project management will be handled by the core team and an extension of volunteers.
The addition generally will consist of extending the rear of the home for a new bedroom, deck, and ramps. An existing bedroom will be modified as a special needs bath. The foundation will enclose an extension of the basement under the new addition. A general sketch of the extension is seen below. Final diagrams will be provided to pre-qualified candidates for the foundation work. Rough site diagrams in electronic format will be provided on request.
